Nandrolone (Deca Durabolin)

What is it?

Deca-Durabolin is probably the most popular anabolic steroid today. It was originally produced by Organon (since 1962) but many legitimate and illegitimate drug-makers produce nandrolone (this is the name of active substance) under various names: Anaboline, Androlone, Extraboline, Turinabol etc.

What are its effects?

Deca-Durabolin (Nandrolone) has strong anabolic effects (it is 2.4 times more anabolic than testosterone, to be precise) but relatively weak androgenic effects (approx. 1/5 of testosterone) thus being more suitable for those prone to prostate hypertrophy, acne vulgaris, alopecia and other side effects of androgenic agents. Nandrolone causes fluid-retention in the joints making the workouts less painful. It also increases collagen synthesis and bone mineral content.

What are its side-effects?

The main side-effect of Deca-Durabolin is its severe, almost complete, testosterone suppression. It is necessary to take steps to recover the natural testosterone production during and/or after the Deca-Durabolin cycle. NEVER self-administer nandrolone without having enough ancillary medication available, it is a very long-acting drug with very strong testosterone-suppression. According to 2007 study by scientists at University of L´Aquila, nandrolone causes eleven times more damage to endothelial blood-vessel cells than testosterone.

How is it administered?

Nandrolone is always used in stack with other medicaments. Almost all steroids can be stacked together with nandrolone but Winstrol is possibly the best candidate. Tamoxifen or Clomid may be necessary too. Typical weekly dose of this injectable steroid is between 200 and 800 mg. Nandrolone is not a good steroid for those taking part in official competitions as its detection time can be as long as one-and-half year.
