Clenbuterol

What is it?

Clenbuterol is not an anabolic steroid but a bronchodilator medicament. It is also used in veterinary medicine (especially in horses) and sometimes as food-additive in animals.

What are its effects?

The effects of Clenbuterol are similar to those of ephedrine: both stimulate catabolic catecholamine hormones, thus causing increased fat-burning and probably also muscle-burning, increase of aerobic capacity and increase of oxygen transportation. Clenbuterol´s other effects are of little importance for athletes. Clenbuterol (Clen) is often used by people who want to reduce their weight. Please notice that some authors claim Clenbuterol has anabolic or anti-catabolic properties. We are, however, not aware of any medical trial supporting such thesis.

What are its side-effects?

Clenbuterol can cause high blood pressure and is liver-toxic. Other side-effects include palpitations, tremor, restlessness and nausea.

How is it administered?

Athletes usually use up to 150 mcg a day (women up to 100 mcg). Pyramiding can be a good idea as the response to this medication is very individual and unpredictable.
